MESSAGE

I trust you do not cringe inside when you see that topic - Tithes and Offerings.

Let your mind not rush to being taken from, robbed, fleeced or milked.

No!

If anything, it is God who is "robbed" by some people who withhold their offerings and tithes from God's servant's and from his house.

The issue is, When an offering is given, tragedy is averted and an opportunity for a future harvest is set.

Those who give tithes and offerings receive immeasurable spiritual and material blessings.

God said, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, ...........and prove me now herewith if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it . And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts." (Malachi 3:10-11 KJV).

Therefore the benefits of giving tithes and offerings are: 1. The opening of Windows of heaven towards you, and 2. The rebuking of the devourer and 3. The stoppage of miscarriages in your areas of production.

The Bible records many people who averted disasters and created opportunities of harvests by giving offerings.

Below are just 4 examples of people who were blessed by God after giving offerings.

1. ABRAHAM

"By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord , for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son : That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies." (Genesis 22:16-17 KJV).

2. DAVID

"And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar unto the Lord , and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel." (2 Samuel 24:24-25 KJV).

3. WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH

"Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth. And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. 1 (Kings 17:13-15 KJV).

4. PHILIPPIANS

"Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:15, 16-17,19 KJV).

RECOMMENDED ACTION

Consider the Malachi 3:10-11 benefits of offerings and tithes.

Prayerfully examine your own conduct in the recent past regarding tithes and offerings.

Confess to God and ask for forgiveness on the areas you defaulted and give room to the devourer and the waster.

It is pointless to rebuke the devourer yourself.

God will do that following your faithfulness.

Make corrective action and offer unto him from what you still have.

Then watch and see God fulfil his promise in Malachi 3:10-11

BIBLE VERSE TO MEDITATE ON:

"Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

(Philippians 4:17&19).
